Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution
David Dollar was a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and a former Country Director for China at the World Bank in Beijing. He was a renowned expert on the Chinese economy, having worked with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). During his tenure at the World Bank, he researched the economies of Asia, including Korea, China, and Vietnam. From 2004 to 2009, he focused on China projects in Beijing. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in Chinese and Political Science and earned his Ph.D. in Economics from New York University. He has also served as an Assistant Professor at UCLA and a Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
